Carlston Avenue Residence

Oakland, CA

This client’s home is located on a hill and their large paned living room windows overlook a thick stand of trees. The first floor lacked a bathroom, so we designed a small powder room, created from additional space off their generous garage. The client’s goal was to create a room that felt entrancing. Inspired by the view, the starting point was a tree motif wallpaper with silver metallic accents. We punctuated the space with fixtures that have a traditional feel, and a marble hexagonal floor tile. The brass and mirrored wall sconces, silver detailing of the wallpaper, and high gloss finish ceiling, all help to reflect light in the space.  The wall hung sink, a utilitarian choice, was dressed up with a custom wood counter and backsplash.
